The Best International Dating Apps and Sites for December 2026

If you want to meet someone from another country, most dating apps either charge you to look outside your city or charge you to talk. Here's how the main international options compare, and why Amarbis is the one to use.

I'm Nick Landreth, and I build Amarbis. So yes, my app is at the top of this list. I'm going to show you exactly why it belongs there.

I built Amarbis because I wanted an international dating app that didn't nickel-and-dime people for the basics: choosing a country, reading a reply, understanding someone who speaks another language.

1. Amarbis: the best international dating app

Amarbis was built from the start for meeting people across borders. Everything about it is aimed at that.

  • Pick where you want to meet people: one country, a region, a single city, or the whole world. That's free for everyone.
  • Ranking on Amarbis doesn't depend on distance, so you aren't buried under whoever happens to live closest.
  • Every profile needs a real face photo and a real location, and I review profiles myself before they go live.
  • Messaging your matches is free. No credits, no per-message charges, no card needed to join.
  • Every message has a translate button, and the app itself is available in 53 languages.
  • Explicit images sent to you in chat are blurred until you choose to see them.
  • Every member gets a free thirty-minute boost every day.

Free members get 25 likes a day, unlimited messaging with matches and five chat translations a month. If you want more, Basic is $4.99 a month in the US and adds 100 likes a day and lets you see who already liked you. Plus is $9.99 with unlimited likes, and Premium is $30 with read receipts and the Culture Guide. Prices are lower in many countries, and in places where paying online is blocked or very hard, like Ethiopia, Cuba, Iran and Venezuela, Basic is free.

2. Bumpy

Bumpy is one of the better-known international dating apps. In its Google Play listing it describes itself as having more than 35 million singles in over 180 countries, with automatic chat translation and photo verification. You choose a continent to meet people on, or local dating, and a paid Gold upgrade unlocks unlimited access.

Where Amarbis goes further is precision. On Bumpy you pick a continent. On Amarbis you pick the exact country, region or city: Argentina, Addis Ababa, Manila, or anywhere else.

3. InternationalCupid

InternationalCupid is part of the Cupid Media family of sites. It's been around a long time, but the model is old-school: free members can only message paid members, and reading messages is a paid feature. A single month of Gold has been listed at about $41.50, and translating messages is paid too.

On Amarbis, two free members who match can talk as much as they want. That alone makes it a different experience.

4. Tinder with Passport

Plenty of people try international dating through Tinder's Passport feature. It works, but Passport is only on paid plans, and Tinder isn't built around international dating. You're dropped into a local swipe deck in another city, competing with everyone who actually lives there.

Amarbis treats your destination as the point, not an add-on you pay extra for.

What actually matters in an international dating app

  1. Can you choose a specific country or city, for free?
  2. Can free members message each other once they match?
  3. Is there translation built into the chat?
  4. Are profiles checked by a real person?
  5. Does it work in your language, and in theirs?

Amarbis answers yes to all five.
