Who's comparing
I'm Nick Landreth, and I build Amarbis. So yes, my app is at the top of this list. I'm going to show you exactly why it belongs there.
Bumble after the rule change
For years, Bumble's whole identity was women sending the first message. In August 2026 Bumble opened first messages up to everyone. That makes it a lot more like every other swipe app, and it means the reason many people chose Bumble is gone.
Women stay in control on Amarbis
On Amarbis, nobody can message you unless you've matched with them. Explicit images in chat are blurred until you choose to see them, and you can block, unmatch or report anyone in two taps. Reports are confidential: the person you report never finds out it was you.
I review profiles myself before they go live, and every profile needs a real face photo and a real location.
Meeting people somewhere else
Bumble's Travel mode, for matching in a place you aren't, is a paid feature. On Amarbis, choosing any country, region or city is free for every member.
Price
Bumble Premium has been listed at around $33 a month in the US. Amarbis Basic is $4.99, Plus is $9.99 and Premium is $30, with lower prices in many countries.
The bottom line
The verdict
Bumble lost the feature that made it different. Amarbis keeps you in control, lets you date anywhere for free and costs a fraction of the price.
