Full disclosure
I'm Nick Landreth, and I build Amarbis. So yes, my app is at the top of this list. I'm going to show you exactly why it belongs there.
Free likes
Hinge gives free members 8 likes a day. Amarbis gives free members 25. If you're serious about meeting someone, more chances matter.
Price
Hinge+ is around $30 a month and HingeX around $50. Amarbis Basic is $4.99 in the US and already lets you see who liked you. Plus, with unlimited likes, is $9.99.
Where you can look
Hinge is built around people near you. That's fine in a big city. It's a problem if you live somewhere small, or if the person you want to meet lives in another country.
On Amarbis you set the destination: your whole state, a country, a region, a single city or the whole world. Ranking doesn't depend on distance, so the person ten miles away doesn't automatically beat the person a hundred miles away.
Serious about safety
Every Amarbis profile needs a real face photo and a real location. I review profiles myself before they go live, and explicit images in chat are blurred until you choose to see them. You can block, unmatch or report anyone in two taps.
Who should use Amarbis
- People who want a real relationship, not endless swiping.
- Anyone in a small town where the local pool is tiny.
- People open to someone from another country or culture.
- Anyone tired of paying $30 a month for basic features.
The verdict
Hinge is a solid local app with a small free plan. Amarbis gives you three times the free likes, a much cheaper upgrade and the whole world to choose from.
